CAPS and CQA Winter School on Ultracold Quantum Many-body Systems

Organizers:

A. Celi (UAB), P. Massignan (UPC), A. Rubio (ICFO), L. Tarruell (ICFO - ICREA)

The goal of this one-week school is to introduce young students and researchers to key themes and latest developments in the field of ultracold quantum many-body systems, as well as to promote the interaction between young and established members of this rapidly-growing community.

The speakers are internationally-recognized researchers in both theory and experiment, aiming to give a comprehensive view of the current state of the art of the field. The School will cover a broad range of themes such as:

- Few- and many-body physics
- Dipolar atoms and supersolids
- Quantum simulation
- Ultracold molecules
- Superfluidity and hydrodynamics
- Ultracold atoms in optical lattices
- Collective light-matter interactions
- Rydberg atoms in optical tweezers
- Ultradilute liquids
- Quantum statistical mechanics

Benasque is a beautiful mountain village located 1140 m above sea level offering fantastic landscapes, scenic hikes to the highest peaks in the Pyrenees, and easy access to the nearby ski slopes of Cerler.

The School will start on Monday, February 17. The participants are expected to arrive on Sunday 16, and a bus will be organized to facilitate the transport from the airport of Barcelona on that day. The School will end on Friday, February 21, and a bus returning to Barcelona airport will be organized on Saturday 22.

The first edition of the 'CAPS & CQA Winter School on Ultracold Quantum Many-body Systems' is organized by the Catalonia Quantum Academy (CQA) together with the network Cold Atom Physics in Spain (CAPS).
