Spring School on Superconducting Qubit Technology

Organizers:

D. López-Núñez (Qilimanjaro Quantum Tech / IFAE), F. Zwiehoff (ParTec AG), P. Forn-Díaz (IFAE / Qilimanjaro Quantum Tech)

Quantum computers based on superconducting qubit technology are currently one of the leading platforms in the race towards quantum advantage. As a highly multidisciplinary field, it requires expertise in subjects like quantum optics, microwave engineering, circuit design, nanofabrication, measurement electronics and quantum metrology, as well as cryogenics. Therefore, this school aims to cover a broad range of subjects needed for a quantum physicist/engineer to work with superconducting devices.

Hence, we invite expert speakers from universities, research institutes and companies, to cover not only the basics but also the specific techniques required to design, fabricate, and operate superconducting quantum devices. Moreover, there will be time and space for the participants to interact with each other and exchange knowledge. In fact, we encourage the attendees to actively contribute to the school in a self-organized manner (so-called ‘flash sessions’ in which the participants can learn from each other, brainstorm, solve problems, or establish collaborations). The school aims at the PhD and PostDoc level to enhance their training, learn from each other and strengthen the superconducting devices community.
