Hadron and nuclear collisions at the RHIC and the LHC offer invaluable opportunities to explore the extreme conditions of temperatures and densities that are characteristic of QCD at high energies. These collisions allow us to better understand the strong interaction, in addition to providing a precise platform to determine parameters of the Standard Model and discover potential new physics beyond it for which QCD processes provide the main backgrounds. In the coming decade, the Electron Ion Collider (EIC) will further extend our understanding of the high-energy regime of QCD. The proposed workshop aims to discuss the current status of the theoretical understanding of high-energy collisions of dense objects, with focus on its application to proton-nucleus and nucleus-nucleus programs at the LHC and the upcoming EIC.
