The UNDARK consortium, where UNDARK stands for Unravelling the Dark Universe from the Canary islands Observatories, aims at resolving the constituents and the laws which govern this dark side of the universe. The consortium is led by the IAC, and has scientifc nodes at CERN, IFAE, WIS and LAPTh.
More information can be found in the UNDARK's website .
UNDARK Scientific Schools will be week-long events aimed at equipping PhD students in the field of astrophysical tests of fundamental physics with theoretical, phenomenological and numerical tools at the forefront of their field of research. The 1st UNDARK Scientific School will be held in Benasque, 9th - 15th March 2025 and will focus on cosmology, stars and other compact objects as probes of Beyond the Standard Model (BSM) physics, dark matter and general relativity.
No fee will be charged to participating students, and only a limited number of spots are available.
- BSM Physics in Astrophysical Data: J. Foster (Fermilab)
- BSM Physics from stars: Sam Witte (Oxford U.)
- BSM in late time cosmology: Laura López-Honórez (Brussels U.)
- BSM in early cosmology: Miguel Escudero (CERN)
- NSs, BHs and GW Observation: Irina Dvorkin (IAP)
- Invited lecturer: GWs in the LISA era: Valeriya Korol (MPA)
- Diversity and Unconscious Bias: Yossi Nir (WIS), Meytal Jona (WIS)
- Communication and illustration: Jonas Enander, Ève Barlier
Lectures will be webcasted, fostering broad scientific engagement.
UNDARK is funded through the Widening participation and spreading excellence programme (project number 101159929), which is part of the European Research Area (ERA) Policy Agenda and aims to harmonise research and innovation (R&I) capacities among all EU countries.
