• The magazine "Cambio 16", in its edition dated January 5, 1987, appointed him "Scientist of the Year", jointly with Dr. Manuel Aguilar Benitez Lugo. The award ceremony took place in Madrid on 16 March 1987.
• The University Board of Valencia apointed him "Doctor Honoris Causa" on 19 February 1987. He was sworn on 12 June 1987.
• Upon come into force the law on the Development and Coordination General of the Scientific and Technical Research, the "Plan to Mobilize High Energy Physics" was replaced by a "National Program for High Energy Physics." He was appointed Committee Program Secretary on July 31, 1987, until April 14, 1988, when he was appointed manager of said Program. He submitted his resignation on December 20, 1988.
