2005, Junio 26 -- July 15

This Benasque session is intended to provide an informal atmosphere for discussing progress in our understanding of decoherence and other condensed matter problems of relevance to quantum information. Emphasis will be made on general principles as well as on specific proposals for the handling of quantum information in solid state systems. The aim of the workshop will be to stimulate discussions and collaborations among participants, with a low number of seminars. Desks will be provided during the second and third week. The first week (June 27 - July 1) will overlap with a more general workshop on Quantum Information organized by I. Cirac and A. Ekert. During that week, no individual desks will be assigned to participants. Computer facilities will be available throughout the entire workshop.

The Center provides the following facilities: desk space, seminar room (equipped with blackboard, projector and beam), secretariat (fax and phone), computer room (8 PC's, internet access includes subscription to journals, 4 extra ethernet connections) and wireless access in all the Center.

This summer session receives financial support from the following institutions: BBVA, Ayuntamiento de Benasque, CSIC, Universitat de Barcelona, Universidad de Zaragoza, Universidad Complutense de Madrid, and Ministerio de Educación y Ciencia.
